Some companies raised the concept of biorational products, such as Sumitomo Chemical, Oro Agri and Nufarm in their business description. Do you think it is necessary to uniform bio-related products with one term? What is the advantage of using the term “Biorational Products”?

No advantage. It is just a marketing term.

no - not necessary. The term is obsolete and it is better to use terms like "biologicals" or " microbials". As conceptual backdrop for "biorationals" the terminology "intergrated crop production" should be used. Thst concept is commonly understood and clearly gives room to all types of agricultural inputs.

yes, but the term agrobiological inputs are then used the term Biorationals does not have a broad use and is not defined anywhere, and not present as such in any known legislation. I see no advantage using this term, rather confusion since there is no definition anywhere that is broadly accepted

It is necessary, but at the same time it is necessary distinguish between really effective biopesticides ane the products having non approved effects. Biostimulats are not biopesticides if their activity is not approved and registered by the same criteria as chemical products.

Yes I think is necessary, specially to clients understand the product, but not enough to result in bureaucracy.

A product should be termed bio-rational only when it is part of the natural system. It could be a natural extract or a synthetic manufacture.

not necessary We think that due to of the different regulation barrier, pesticides should get other attention and classification

ification has already taken place by separating biological products into the different categories, ie microorganism ( virus, bacteria, fungus) natural products (biochemicals), pheromones, macro organisms, bio fertilizers, bio stimulants. The advantage to use biorational products is to give biological products an image of the correct and logical use of products that are safe, less aggressive to the environment, low toxicological profile, ideal for IPM, no LMR, no re entry problems and a complement to traditional agro chemicals.

there is more to plant health than applying pesticides. it would be based on claims, related to research, that improve plant health without the use of conventional pesticides and fertilizers, resulting in less disease and the same or improved yields.

Biorational does not tell you what these are and Valent Bio is the only one using this term. Why not just Biologicals ? Or Ag Biologicals?

It appears to me that Biorational and biostimulant are basically the same thing unless somehow someone in the industry decides there should be some defining difference. I do not see that happening. All I see is a company trying to find a way to separate itself from the pack by coming up with some new term to define its company's product line.
